Breaking News: Cowboys center Cooper Beebe shines in rookie debut after practicing shotgun snaps with mom.

During his first NFL game on Sunday, Cooper Beebe performed impressively, leading a revamped Dallas offensive line in a 33-17 win over Cleveland and their top pass rusher Myles Garrett.

The 23-year-old center earned the starting center position in training camp even though he had never played center in college, adapting to his new role by practicing shotgun snaps with his mom as part of their family routine.

Tom Beebe shared a video last month in the family’s Kansas City, Kansas home showing his mother, Tamara, standing about five yards away catching snaps from her son. Despite Beebe being one of the top players in snap counts during the preseason, Dak Prescott, the starting quarterback, was not involved in any of these games. Tamara decided to help her son become more acquainted with the Cowboys quarterback by mimicking his “Here we go” cadence.

Beebe, weighing an impressive 335 pounds, is the biggest player on the Cowboys’ roster and arrives in the NFL as one of the most powerful collegiate linemen in the nation. Nevertheless, his affectionate routine with his mother is considered to be a true reflection of Dallas’ kind-hearted nature.

The bear that dances. During his childhood, he was known as the kid with excellent footwork who enjoyed dancing to music and being lively, yet he was the most gentle among our children,” Tom shared with Kansas State Sports writer D. Scott Fritchen in 2023. When his mother refers to him as “My big teddy bear,” that is truly reflective of his demeanor when he is not playing sports.

Beebe stayed in Kansas for his college years, deciding to attend Kansas State instead of Kansas and Minnesota as a three-star recruit. Spending five years in Manhattan would turn Beebe into a well-known college athlete. Throughout the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Beebe was the top-performing interior offensive lineman.
