**Guns N’ Roses Officially Announces New Album and World Tour Following Years of Rumors and Anticipation**
**Los Angeles, CA –** After years of speculation, delays, and cryptic social media teasers, **Guns N’ Roses** has finally made it official: the legendary hard rock band will release a **brand-new studio album**—their first in over 15 years—alongside a **global stadium tour** set to kick off later this year.
In a press conference streamed live on the band’s official website and social media channels, frontman **Axl Rose**, lead guitarist **Slash**, and bassist **Duff McKagan** stood side by side to confirm what fans have long hoped for. The new album, titled **”The General”**, will be released on **October 18, 2025**, and marks the band’s first full-length studio effort since 2008’s *Chinese Democracy*. Notably, it’s also the first album since the classic lineup partially reunited in 2016.
“This has been a long time coming,” Axl Rose said. “We’ve been writing, recording, fighting, and laughing—and now we’re finally ready to share something real with the fans who never gave up on us.”
The album is said to feature **12 original tracks**, including a mix of unreleased material from the *Use Your Illusion* sessions, fresh compositions recorded in recent years, and collaborative efforts between Rose, Slash, and McKagan. Two songs—**“Seven”** and **“Perhaps”**—will be released as singles in advance, with the first dropping on streaming platforms this June.
Following the album’s release, Guns N’ Roses will embark on the **”Welcome to the Aftershock Tour,”** a globe-spanning series of concerts set to begin in **November 2025** in Mexico City. The tour will take the band through **North America, Europe, South America, Asia, and Australia**, with over **50 dates** confirmed and more expected to be added. The North American leg alone includes massive venues such as **MetLife Stadium in New Jersey**, **SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles**, and **Soldier Field in Chicago**.
“This tour is going to be loud, it’s going to be wild, and it’s going to be all about the music,” said Slash. “We’re playing the classics, the deep cuts, and plenty of new material. It’s time.”
Fans worldwide have already erupted in celebration across social media. Hashtags like **#GNFNRReturns**, **#TheGeneralAlbum**, and **#AftershockTour2025** quickly began trending on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. Early ticket pre-sale information will be released exclusively to members of the band’s official fan club, the **Nightrain**, starting in early May.
The announcement comes amid a renewed cultural resurgence for the band, fueled in part by their upcoming **Netflix documentary series** and a wave of interest from younger fans discovering their catalog for the first time.
Guns N’ Roses, one of the best-selling rock bands of all time, continue to defy expectations and prove their place in music history. With a new album, an epic world tour, and a re-energized creative spirit, the band once known for chaos is now commanding the spotlight again—on their own terms.
**Rock and roll is alive—and GNR is leading the charge.**
