Netflix Releases Highly Anticipated Documentary on Former Motorcycle Racer Star Valentino Rossi Titled “THE GHOST RIDER” — To Be Released on 25th

**Streaming giant Netflix** has officially announced the release date for its newest and highly anticipated sports documentary, *“THE GHOST RIDER,”* a deep and thrilling exploration of the life and legacy of legendary motorcycle racer **Valentino Rossi**. Slated for release on the **25th of May**, the documentary promises to take fans on an emotional and adrenaline-fueled ride through one of motorsport’s most storied careers.

Known as “The Doctor,” **Valentino Rossi** is a name that transcends MotoGP. Over a career spanning more than two decades, Rossi captured **nine world championships** and became an icon not only for his unmatched skill on two wheels but for his charisma, showmanship, and unshakable will to win. Now, *“THE GHOST RIDER”* looks to peel back the curtain on the man behind the helmet, revealing the passion, pain, triumphs, and challenges that defined a generation of racing.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker **Luca Gualtieri**, the documentary weaves together **never-before-seen footage**, **exclusive interviews** with Rossi, family members, teammates, and rivals, as well as commentary from motorsport legends such as **Marc Márquez**, **Jorge Lorenzo**, and **Casey Stoner**. Fans can expect candid reflections on career-defining moments, including Rossi’s epic battles with rival riders, the shocking 2015 Sepang clash with Márquez, and his emotional farewell from the MotoGP circuit in 2021.

The title, *“THE GHOST RIDER,”* was inspired by Rossi’s uncanny ability to appear out of nowhere during races—often coming from the middle or back of the grid to secure dramatic victories. “He rode like a ghost,” says fellow racer Jorge Lorenzo in the film. “You’d think he was out of the race, and then suddenly he’s behind you, ready to pass.”

Netflix has teased that the documentary will also delve into Rossi’s **personal life**, from his roots in Tavullia, Italy, to his current ventures in team management, driver development, and auto racing. Known for his deep connection with fans and his eccentric sense of humor, Rossi’s personality is as big a draw as his racing legacy—and the film aims to showcase both with depth and authenticity.

Rossi himself took to social media to express excitement about the project: *“This documentary tells the story not just of races, but of a life. My life. I’m honored to share this journey with the fans who have supported me through it all.”*

Netflix executives say the project is part of a growing slate of sports-centered programming aimed at engaging global audiences. “Valentino Rossi is more than a champion—he’s a cultural icon,” said Netflix sports content director Maria Ellison. “We knew his story deserved the highest level of storytelling, and we believe viewers will be captivated.”

*“THE GHOST RIDER”* will premiere globally on **May 25th**, with subtitles and dubbing in over 20 languages. Whether you’re a lifelong MotoGP fan or new to the sport, this documentary promises to be a riveting look into the life of a man who changed racing forever.
